We have been coming to this Little Sichuan way back in 1997 at 4th street in San Mateo City. And we still coming but now they are located in Newark, CA. If you like spicy food please try. 5 spices cold chicken with onions and peanuts, cold noodles with shredded chicken are must try dish.
One of my favorite restaurants in Newark! Authentic Chinese food all year round. I've been here and ordered many times, trying different dishes on their menu. All of them are pretty good with some being fantastic such as dry sauteed spicy chicken wings, sour Chinese pickle with fish fillet, Sichuan Cold noodles. You know a restaurant is really good when you feel comfortable being exploratory and ordering any random dish you see on the menu. This is one of the Chinese restaurants that won't let you down. I often do takeout here and service has been reliable and fast. The restaurant inside also looks decent. I think they took travel groups sometime, during which it'd be crowded.
Great and clean restaurant. We went on thanksgiving day. The food tastes delicious and the environment is clean and nice. Food service is timely. Will revisit again for sure.
My family loves spicy food, and my mom also was told by her friend that this spot serves complimentary soy milk and 油條 (Chinese fried donut) on weekends, so Little Sichuan was immediately bumped up our queue of places to try. But, when we arrived, it seemed like there was only complimentary soy milk, and there wasn't mention of complimentary 油條 in Yelp reviews for nearly a decade. That said, you can still order it a la carte, which is what we did. Personally thought it was a little greasy but my mom was a fan, so that's all that matters in the end. Now, as far as the rest of the food goes - we ordered the boiled fish, cold sichuan noodles, husband and wife lung slices, and spicy chicken wings. The cold noodles were topped with a couple spoonfuls of their fragrant and addictive chili oil, refreshing sliced cucumber, and the protein of your choice (ground pork or shredded chicken). In case you needed even more of that chili oil goodness (which we did), it's also available table side. The husband and wife lung slices (which is usually beef shank and tripe in a spicy sauce) and the boiled fish in chili oil were the epitome of 下飯, which just means they're perfect for downing several bowls of rice. Service and ambiance here are just ok, which I think is the root of most of the negative reviews, but it didn't bother us much. All in all, a nice new Sichuan place for our family, and while I needed a nap afterward from the chili oil and multiple bowls of rice, I thought the food was good and would come back.
Delicious food with generous portions! This is my go-to spot for spicy Sichuan cuisine. The spicy chicken wings are my favorite--packed with heat and flavor! Highly recommend!
